Instrument Description


The Zero Power Physics Reactor (ZPPR) transuranic surveillance glovebox (TSG) is an assembly of two gloveboxes positioned on each side of a radiological hood. They are double-sided, inert atmosphere gloveboxes using argon as the atmospheric gas. 

 

Applications


The ZPPR TSG line is a containment system for performing surveillance, characterization and repackaging activities in the ZPPR workroom. The glovebox line will be used for handling transuranic materials. This equipment is replacing existing hoods in ZPPR that were used to open secondary containers of radiological material and inspect the condition (verify integrity) of the primary packages. The ZPPR TSG includes two gloveboxes serviced by a radiological hood.
